Ballachulish 4 Bute 1

Ballachulish recorded their first Marine Harvest National Division victory when they beat Bute 4-1 at Jubilee Park.

Ballachulish took the lead on four minutes when John MacDonald played a free hit to Malcolm Watson whose shot nestled in the back of the net.

John MacDonald was at the centre of things again on eight minutes when his shot was missed by Kevin Queen in the Bute goal.

Bute settled after that and the home side took their 2- 0 lead into the break.

John MacDonald got his second and Ballachulish’s third goal on 52 minutes. Kevin Queen made a good save but MacDonald collected the rebound and slotted the ball home.

Duncan MacDonald made it 4- 0 on 81 minutes. Again the goal came from a rebound as Kevin Queen kept out another shot on target but Duncan MacDonald was on hand to score.

There was some consolation for Bute three minutes from time when a high ball from the right bounced just outside the ‘D’ and Ben Clarke struck past the keeper to make it 4-1.
