Lochaber Camanachd veterans remember
A 50-YEAR celebration took place at Aonach Mhor Hotel, Spean Bridge, recently when the remaining players of the all- conquering Lochaber Camanachd team of 1964/65 got together.
On display were the Sutherland, Strathdearn and MacGillivray League cups which Lochaber won in that season.
In addition many original photos and memorabilia of that period were also on display. Surviving players and relatives travelled from far to enjoy the celebrations with lots of laughs and good memories brought to mind.
Lochaber played 21 games that season, winning 19, losing one, and drawing one.
The Sutherland Cup was won on the old King George Park, Fort William, against Ballachulish with a 3-1 victory, the League Cup at the Bught Park, Inverness, and finally returning to the King George Park for an evening match against Boleskine in the Strathdearn Cup final when, after being down 1-3, Lochaber pulled off an amazing win in the dying minutes by 4-3.
