Lidl to open new store in September
THE LIDL of the Future (LOF) supermarket, the first of its kind in Scotland, currently being built in Oban on Soroba Road, is on track for opening in September.
The supermarket is relocating from its current premises on Lochavullin Drive and construction is on schedule.
The company is looking to recruit a further 10 employees in full and part-time positions to add to the existing pool of current staff and those already recruited.
The supermarket will boast state- of-the-art facilities including a bakery, eight tills and 120 parking spaces.
Lidl UK’s Head of Property Gordon Rafferty said: ‘We would like to thank all those who have played a part to date in bringing this new Lidl store to Oban.
‘It is wonderful for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to open the doors to this new Lidl of the Future store and serve our multi-award winning products to the local community.’
