Semi-final draw

THE DRAW for the 2016 Camanachd Cup semi-finals was made on Monday July 11 at BBC Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Making the draw was MG Alba chief executive Donald Campbell, assisted by Camanachd Association chieftain Jock Turner and BBC Alba’s shinty commentator Hugh Dan MacLennan.

The draw is as follows: Beauly/ Kinlochshiel v Newtonmore and Lochaber/ Kyles Athletic v Oban Camanachd.

Both matches will be televised live by BBC Alba and will throw up at 4pm. BBC Scotland will televise the final.

The venues for the semi-final ties, which will be played on August 13 and 20, are still to be confirmed.

The Camanachd Cup is shinty’s greatest prize and one of Scotland’s oldest and most iconic sporting trophies.

The 2016 Camanachd Cup final will be played at An Aird Park, Fort William, on Saturday September 17.
