New spon­so­ship deal and play­ing kit for Kil­mallie Shinty Club

KIL­MALLIE Shinty Club re­ceived new strips and spon­sor­ship from Bow­man skip hire and waste haulage com­pany at the week­end.

Anne Bow­man, wife of the late Ewen Bow­man, who passed away sud­denly in March this year, pre­sented team cap­tain Martin Ste­wart the new strip on Satur­day (Au­gust 13).

Mr Bow­man, with the fam­ily busi­ness, had been the spon­sor of the Kil­mallie Shinty Club and the Ca­manachd Ref­eree As­so­ci­a­tion for some years.

Alas­tair MacIn­tyre, chair­man of Kil­mallie Shinty Club, said: ‘Ev­ery­body at Kil­mallie Shinty Club is de­lighted that the Bow­man fam­ily are con­tin­u­ing to sup­port Kil­mallie and con­tinue the re­la­tion­ship which has been in place for over 30 years.’

Mrs Bow­man also pre­sented Mr MacIn­tyre with a spon­sor­ship cheque for the club.

A spokesper­son for the Bow­man fam­ily said: ‘We have been sup­port­ing Kil­mallie for 30 years and the fam­ily are de­lighted to con­tinue sup­port­ing them.’

Mr MacIn­tyre, added: ‘ We are hon­oured that Mrs Anne Bow­man has agreed to take up the po­si­tion of pres­i­dent of the club.’

Af­ter the pre­sen­ta­tions, Kil­mallie went on to play In­ver­aray whom they beat 4:1.

The Ben Ne­vis Dis­tillery nom­i­nated pairs bowl­ing com­pe­ti­tion held at the Fort Wil­liam Bowl­ing Clubs Green at In­ver­lochy, with a close fought final in which (left to right ) Keith Bran­na­gan and David Weir came out on top with a seven to six end win to run­ners up Lyn Don­ald and Kevin Dou­glas.
