New sponsoship deal and playing kit for Kilmallie Shinty Club
KILMALLIE Shinty Club received new strips and sponsorship from Bowman skip hire and waste haulage company at the weekend.
Anne Bowman, wife of the late Ewen Bowman, who passed away suddenly in March this year, presented team captain Martin Stewart the new strip on Saturday (August 13).
Mr Bowman, with the family business, had been the sponsor of the Kilmallie Shinty Club and the Camanachd Referee Association for some years.
Alastair MacIntyre, chairman of Kilmallie Shinty Club, said: ‘Everybody at Kilmallie Shinty Club is delighted that the Bowman family are continuing to support Kilmallie and continue the relationship which has been in place for over 30 years.’
Mrs Bowman also presented Mr MacIntyre with a sponsorship cheque for the club.
A spokesperson for the Bowman family said: ‘We have been supporting Kilmallie for 30 years and the family are delighted to continue supporting them.’
Mr MacIntyre, added: ‘ We are honoured that Mrs Anne Bowman has agreed to take up the position of president of the club.’
After the presentations, Kilmallie went on to play Inveraray whom they beat 4:1.

The Ben Nevis Distillery nominated pairs bowling competition held at the Fort William Bowling Clubs Green at Inverlochy, with a close fought final in which (left to right ) Keith Brannagan and David Weir came out on top with a seven to six end win to runners up Lyn Donald and Kevin Douglas.
