Paying tribute to departed friends

The Oban Times - - Leisure -

The premature passing of friends, family and those close to us is a difficult but sadly common aspect of life and touches all of us at some stage.

In recent weeks singer Maggie MacDonald and Piper Donald Campbell passed away and two years ago last week, Oban’s star Highland Dancer Eilidh MacInnes died aged just 44. Many wonderful tributes and obituaries have been written about all of them, but the following are just three anecdotes that are part of the richness of memory and show the calibre of their respective characters. It was a great privilege to have known them and all have left us before their time. The accompanying song lyrics are on a similar theme.
