Nevis Range defeat Ballachulish to win their first-ever trophy
Nevis Range 4 Ballachulish 3 Kinloch Shield Cup Final
NEVIS Range lifted their first ever trophy in a pulsating final on Sunday (August 13).
Ryan Wilson and Martin Munro gave Nevis Range a 2- 0 lead within the first 15 minutes.
Ballachulish responded with a Ross MacLean goal before Martin Munro replied again for Nevis Range.
Just before half time Eric Tott made it 3-2, and Paul MacParlane levelled in the second half.
Man of the match, Ballachulish goalkeeper David Dunlop, pulled off several great saves as the final looked to be heading for a penalty shoot out. With five minutes remaining Andrew MacLean scored the winner to reward manager Donald MacNeil’s hard work in keeping his team going over the last few years.
Mallaig 8 Tekkerslovakia 0 Duthie Cup Final
TEKKERS again struggled to field a full team which turned the game into a one-sided affair.
Ross Douglas again was the match winner with five goals. Bradley Flannigan, Jamie MacGregor and Neil Cameron were the other scorers to give Mallaig their third trophy.
