FOUR beds in Lorn and Islands hospital are being ‘reconfigured’ as ‘short-term assessment beds’.

The four beds have been medical beds, on ward B.

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) said it was reconfiguring the acute medical unit to build on the services that are currently provided to patients from the hospital.

A spokesman for the HSCP said: ‘ The introduction of these assessment beds will provide an opportunity for patients to spend more time with the hospital’s medical, nursing and other associated professionals without the need to be admitted to the hospital.’
