Ceilidh closes sum­mer sea­son

THE fi­nal ceilidh of the sum­mer sea­son at Taynuilt saw Oban High School pipers Emma Hill, Kate MacPher­son and Gre­gor MacDon­ald start the pro­ceed­ings with an amaz­ing se­lec­tion of rous­ing pipe tunes.

There were fur­ther en­joy­able mu­si­cal per­for­mances from Re­becca Hill on clarsach and three mem­bers of the Ar­gyll Ceilidh Trail­ers – namely Mor­ven MacFadyen Don­ald, Ross Christie and Ruaraidh Lit­ster- Camp­bell.

Ailie Munro and Katie MacDon­ald rep­re­sented the Isla Sin­clair Dancers, and both girls pro­duced im­pres­sive High­land danc­ing per­for­mances.

Lochawe singer Gre­gor Camp­bell gave a fine de­but solo per­for­mances, while the Taynuilt trio of He­len Watt, Au­drey Pater­son and Davy Pater­son (aka The Bum Notes) de­lighted the au­di­ence with some ex­cel­lent singing in har­mony.

Un­der con­duc­tor Au­drey Pater­son, Taynuilt Gaelic Choir’s mixed and ladies choirs gave good ac­counts of them­selves, while Fear an Taighe Dun­can MacDon­ald kept the evening flow­ing smoothly.
