Remedial plan of action agreed for Oban playparks
A SHORT-TERM and long-term plan for Oban Community Play Park were agreed last Thursday.
All three areas have been closed to the public due to safety concerns, but the play park committee hopes they will reopen on Saturday November 5.
A short-term fix will be carried out in the big park to deal with the trip hazards from where the flooring has split. Fresh bark will be placed in the under-fives park to cover the material that was starting to show.
In the long term, Argyll and Bute Council will bring in a drainage expert to assess the adjacent field and tennis courts.
Wicksteed, the company that laid the flooring, will find a longterm fix as soon as the weather permits, which is unlikely to happen until spring.
