Disappointing day at the office for Fort William

The Oban Times - - Sport -

THERE was another disappointing result for Fort William at the weekend as they lost 5-2 at home to Huntly.

The home side again paid the price for not taking some of their many chances at Saturday’s match.

Ex-Nairn County player Robbie Duncanson was the star man for the visitors helping himself to four goals.

Fort’s cause was not helped by the dismissal of keeper David Harrison who was replaced by veteran Jimmy Paterson before Ross Still got the fifth.

Fort’s top scorer Scottie Davidson then fired home two ‘stunners’ to take his tally for the season so far to an impressive 10.

Next up is a trip to Inverurie Locos, followed by visits to Brora Rangers and Fraserburgh, before the Fort’s next home game against Buckie Thistle on Saturday December 3.

Fort William’s under-17 team took on Oban Saints’ under-17s in a friendly match on the 3G pitch at Lochaber High School last Sunday morning.

The visitors impressed with a first class performance winning 3- 0 thanks to two goals from Daniel MacCuish and the other from Craig Easton.

A sporting encounter was well handled by referee Deek Cameron.

The teams hope to organise another game in Oban.
