CROSS­ROADS is a lo­cally-man­aged char­ity in North Ar­gyll aim­ing to pro­vide a short break care ser­vice in the home.

If you are look­ing af­ter a par­ent, partner, child or neigh­bour who can­not man­age due to age, ill­ness or dis­abil­ity, the or­gan­i­sa­tion might be able to help.

Cross­roads pro­vides prac­ti­cal sup­port in peo­ple’s homes and aims to de­liver a high qual­ity ser­vice in the com­mu­nity to en­able car­ers to take time off.

Cross­roads pro­vides per­sonal care, so­cial stim­u­la­tion and a welcome break for the carer so they can have a rest while be­ing as­sured that the per­son they care for is be­ing well looked af­ter.

Cross­roads is a vol­un­tary or­gan­i­sa­tion funded by the lo­cal au­thor­ity and pri­vate in­di­vid­u­als. It de­liv­ers a ser­vice in the Oban area and, when pos­si­ble, on the is­lands and in the Lorn area. It is pos­si­ble to be re­ferred through so­cial ser­vices, de­pend­ing on your cir­cum­stances. All the care at­ten­dants are trained in the con­di­tions that they may en­counter. They are trained in first aid, health and safety, food and hy­giene plus they have an on­go­ing train­ing pro­gramme.
