Family visit Billy in India

The Oban Times - - News -

BILLY IRVING’S father Jim and brother Jamie arrived in India this week to visit the Connel man imprisoned in Chennai with five other British ex-army servicemen on firearms charges.

‘Jamie hasn’t seen his brother in three years and I have no doubt it will be a incredible reunion when they finally see one another again,’ wrote Billy’s fiancée Yvonne MacHugh on their campaign Facebook page, Bring Billy Back.

‘Billy, Jamie and Colin aren’t just brothers they are best friends, and as close as brothers could possibly be. It’s been incredibly hard for Jim and Margaret to see their son in prison, but equally hard for Jamie and Colin, knowing there is very little they or any of us can do to free him. This visit will be a massive morale boost for Billy.’

A visitor also reported how surprisingly ‘positive and upbeat’ Billy was in prison, when he could be ‘licking the walls’.
