Killin Hogmanay celebrations
NEW YEAR celebrations in Killin started with the children of the village parading through Main Street carrying lanterns they had made in a workshop on December 17.
The parade ended at The Killin Hotel where the children showed off their creations to the hotel guests before having them judged by one of the visitors to the hotel.
First prize went to Naomi Grant, second prize to Iona Lafferty and third prize to Liam Mullen.
The whole event was organised by Mrs Alma Walker with help from parents.
Later local people and visitors gathered at the Falls of Dochart to welcome in 2017 and were treated to a magnificent display of fireworks that lasted for 20 minutes and looked spectacular over the water with the Falls of Dochart in spate after the rain earlier in the day. Thanks go to Charlie Grant and his band of helpers who organised such a great event.
