Has anyone else been caught for parking?

The Oban Times - - Letters -

Sir, I wonder if any of your readers have come across similar problems.

I recently went to Morrisons on a Saturday afternoon at about 4pm. I got my shopping and left after 45 minutes.

The next morning on my way to work in Skye, I went to the bottle bank in the Morrisons car park and deposited a few bottles. This would have been about 7.15am and my stay was only for two minutes. A week later, I got a very threatening letter telling me I had left my car overnight in the car park and had to pay a fine of £70.

I won’t be paying this but was concerned that more vulnerable customers, such as pensioners, may feel intimidated to pay up. I am shocked both by Morrisons associating itself with a car park management company – Parking Eye – which appears little better than a cowboy and its method of monitoring cars in its car park or more accurately the lack of it. John MacDonald, Argyll Road, Fort William.
