Brave Laura appeals to Oban and Lorn community ahead of lifesaving transplant
A 16-YEAR-OLD girl from North Connel who suffers from leukaemia is appealing for people to sign up to become a potential lifesaver.
Laura Campbell has been diagnosed with the disease for the third time in her young life. However, the teenager is on a mission to help as many people as possible.
Laura, who is hoping to receive a stem cell donation in October, is urging people to sign up to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register.
With the help of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), Laura’s appeal will take place on September 30. The day will start at Oban High School in the morning, providing pupils with information and the opportunity to join the register. From 4pm until 10pm, a drop-in clinic will be held at Oban Community Fire Station to allow members of the public to do the same.
