Success for Bidwells graduates
TWO MEMBERS of the Bidwells Scotland team have passed their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Peter Baker, Inverness, and James Allan, Fort William, completed their period of structured practical training and professional devolvement with Bidwells, one of the UK’s leading property consultancies, which culminated in a final assessment in November 2016.
Now fully qualified as rural surveyors, Peter and James are keen to progress their respective careers at Bidwells.
‘I recognised that a career in surveying held many opportunities to be involved in land management and the outdoors,’ said Peter.
‘ While studying for my Masters in Land Economy at Aberdeen University, I was fortunate enough to get a job with Bidwells in Inverness where I am now involved with a variety of work including estate management, valuations and agency work throughout the Highlands and Islands.
‘ With the APC behind me, I am looking forward to getting involved with new projects and hope to expand my experience in the fields of agency and valuation work.’
A Fort William local, James studied geography at the University of Glasgow and during that time developed a particular interest in land management. He then went on to study a Masters in land economy and rural surveying.
‘Being from Fort William, I was keen to return closer to home once I finished my studies. The job opportunity with Bidwells allowed me to come back to the area and work within my field of interest.
‘ Working with Bidwells has provided me with experience in a number of interesting areas, namely estate and property management and agency. Having passed my APC, I hope to further my experience in these areas and grow within Bidwells, learning from those whom I work alongside.’
Peter Baker and James Allan are now fully qualified as rural surveyors with Bidwells property consultancy.
