Living with disabilities

The Oban Times - - News -

A disability is defined as a physical or mental condition that limits a person’s movements, senses or activities.

Between one in four and one in five people are believed to have a lifelong disability.

Due to the ageing population in Argyll and the islands, the number of people who live with a longterm disabling condition is higher than the national average.

One in six pupils of school age are recognised as having extra support needs.
