Mull residents to be quizzed on new ferry service
ISLANDERS will be quizzed on the impact of the Scottish Government’s Road Equivalent Tariff (RET) and the increase of traffic to the island of Mull.
A questionnaire will be made widely available throughout the islands of Mull, Iona and Ulva asking for views on the impact of the service.
Businesses and residents are being targeted in order that Mull Commu- nity Council can find out what people really think about the new service, with the survey covering issues such as the length of the season, the impact on the bookings system and the shift in people travelling to the mainland more often.
A meeting of Mull Community Council on Tuesday January 10 heard that the questionnaire was developed without leading questions or bias.
The questionnaire will be printed in full in the community newsletter Round and About, and will be made available in various locations throughout the island by the beginning of February.
Billy McClymont, chairman of the community council, said: ‘This is a great opportunity for people to have their say on the impact of the ferry service.’
