Health board just misses tar­get

MORE than 3,000 NHS High­land pa­tients ex­pe­ri­enced longer ac­ci­dent and emer­gency wait­ing times than the SNP’s tar­get in 2016.

Fig­ures from Scot­tish Labour show 3,033 peo­ple waited longer than four hours, 125 longer than eight and 11 for more than 12 hours, mean­ing NHS High­land falls slightly short of the SNP tar­get of 95 per cent of pa­tients be­ing seen within four hours.

Fort Wil­liam and Oban hos­pi­tals both met this tar­get, how­ever, with just shy of 96 per cent of ac­ci­dent and emer­gency pa­tients be­ing seen within four hours in the Belford and al­most 99 per cent be­ing seen within this pe­riod in Lorn and Is­lands hos­pi­tal.
