Health board just misses target

-

MORE than 3,000 NHS Highland patients experienced longer accident and emergency waiting times than the SNP’s target in 2016.

Figures from Scottish Labour show 3,033 people waited longer than four hours, 125 longer than eight and 11 for more than 12 hours, meaning NHS Highland falls slightly short of the SNP target of 95 per cent of patients being seen within four hours.

Fort William and Oban hospitals both met this target, however, with just shy of 96 per cent of accident and emergency patients being seen within four hours in the Belford and almost 99 per cent being seen within this period in Lorn and Islands hospital.
