Playpark dismantled amid safety fears
A FORT WILLIAM play park has been dismantled amid safety fears.
Work began to remove the children’s play equipment on Lundavra Road around the festive period and now a barrier restricting access has been installed.
The Highland Council told The Oban Times the decision was made after representations were made to the local community and while this particular park is no longer fit for purpose, children will still be able to enjoy play areas nearby.
A Highland Council spokesperson said: ‘This has been the subject of considerable consultation and is being dismantled as a result of some safety concerns but also parents’ preference to see more investment in the Lochaber Crescent play park which is very nearby.’
