Mull and Iona

PRI­MARY school pupils from Mull and Iona were chal­lenged by the Iona Cathe­dral Trust to de­sign a logo that could be used to pro­mote the Iona Abbey Li­brary Pro­ject.

A to­tal of 22 en­tries were re­ceived, with first prize be­ing awarded to Leanne McLel­lan and sec­ond prize to Freya Jardine, both of P5 at Iona Pri­mary School.

Highly com­mended awards were made to Matilda Munro Is­abelle Green­field and Ar­win Mer­ritt from Ulva Pri­mary, and Uist Woomble, Kelsie Pren­tice and Isla MacInnes of Iona Pri­mary.

Leanne’s im­age of a dove, book and Celtic cross adorns a new in­for­ma­tion leaflet about the pro­ject and will also be seen on fu­ture pro­ject com­mu­ni­ca­tions. The next mile­stone in the pro­ject will be com­ing this spring, with the first of the pro­ject’s cre­ative work­shops to be of­fered on Mull and Iona.
