Es­mond wins Leanachan race

SOME 59 run­ners fin­ished the Leanachan race on Sun­day, a 9.5 mile long, go­ing through Leanachan/ Ne­vis Range forestry tracks. This was the sev­enth race out of 10 that is in the cal­en­dar of Lochaber Win­ter League 2016/2017.

A long cat­e­gory race in which all the run­ners must wear or carry full body cover, wa­ter­proof top and bot­toms, hat and gloves. It was a cold and cloudy day but ev­ery­one kept smil­ing be­fore and af­ter the race.

The men’s cat­e­gory was won by Es­mond Tres­sider LAC in 01:00:27, 2nd place John Yells LAC in 01:01:12, 3rd crossed the fin­ish line Steven Traill LAC in 01:01:42. In the women’s cat­e­gory 1st crossed the fin­ish line Lisette Wal­ter in 01:08:39, 2nd Helen Leggett LAC in 01:14:37 and 3rd Amanda Black­hall LAC in 01:14:53.

A spokesper­son said: ‘ Well done to all that took part and mas­sive thanks to or­gan­is­ers, Mar­shall’s and time­keep­ers, Mar­garet Rose, Cor­rina, Pamela, Aileen, Ellen, Sharon, Gra­ham and oth­ers I may have missed.’
