THERE has been an in­crease in house break-ins through­out Lochaber and po­lice are en­cour­ag­ing home own­ers to re­main vig­i­lant.

The most re­cent break-ins took place while homes were un­oc­cu­pied.

Po­lice said tak­ing pre­cau­tions such as leav­ing lights on while away and ask­ing neigh­bours to keep a watch­ful eye all help in pre­vent­ing and de­tect­ing these crimes.

Po­lice ad­vice that any sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity or strange/ un­known ve­hi­cles seen in lo­cal areas should be re­ported as a mat­ter of ur­gency.

A WIN­DOW of a house in Drum­fada Ter­race, Cor­pach, was dam­aged when a stone was thrown at it some­time be­tween 10am on Jan­uary 22 and 12.30pm on Jan­uary 23. Any­one in the area at the time who saw any­one act­ing sus­pi­ciously is asked to con­tact po­lice in Fort Wil­liam.

AN AN­CHOR and buoy may be miss­ing from Glas­drum Point on the Sound of Mull. If any­one has in­for­ma­tion as to the where­abouts of the buoy, or any rea­son to sug­gest the an­chor may be miss­ing, they should con­tact po­lice in Stron­tian.
