Birthday party was a wonderful surprise

The Oban Times - - LETTERS -

Sir, My 90th birthday treat was to have been a quiet dinner for three at the Taynuilt Hotel.

However, my son Colin had other plans and so, to my complete surprise and enormous pleasure, I found myself in the midst of loving friends and family of many years. And the mascara held.

A huge thank you to the chef/owner for a splendid buffet and delicious cake, and the competent and cheerful staff, and I wish them all good fortune for the years ahead.

Admittedly, doubly fortified a glass or two of bubbly, I managed to blow out all the candles with a single breath.

To Colin and Pauline and all the lovely people involved, my sincere appreciation for the wonderful gifts, flowers and, somewhat belatedly, Christmas goodies. Sybil Cameron, Cruachan Cottages, Taynuilt.
