Green light for new wind farm
PLANNING permission for a new 10-turbine wind farm in the Highlands has been approved.
Paul Wheelhouse, the minister for business, innovation and energy granted planning permission for the wind farm, 8kms west of Fort Augustus, on Friday February 3.
It is hoped the development will create between four and 50 jobs and generate up to £4million in community benefit, to be divided equally between local communities.
Toni Volpe, chief executive officer of Falck Renewables SPA said: ‘ This wind farm will also support local community projects, help Scotland meet its energy targets and include measures to protect breeding birds and the environment.’
