WHAT’S ON

THERE will be a Lochaber Biodiversity Action Group panel discussion at the next meeting of Lochaber Natural History Society on Monday February 13 at 7.30pm in the Alexandra Hotel. ON MONDAY February 13, representatives of Lochaber Sensory Care for Sight and Hearing Support (LSC) will be in Ardnamurchan.

They will be visiting Acharacle Medical Practice from 10.30am till 11.30am, and Dail Mhor Care Home in Strontian from 12.30pm till 1.30pm. At both venues the LSC team will offer help and advice to locals living with sight or hearing loss.

They will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries, provide re-tubing for hearing aids and help with any difficulties. LOCHABER Community Wind Band will be performing at Abbeyfield Ballachulish on Saturday February 18 from 2pm.

The care home invites anyone in the community to come along and enjoy the show with clients and staff. MALLAIG Pool and Leisure Centre is running a slimming club every Thursday evening from 7pm. Deep Water Aqua Aerobics runs before the slimming club, from 6pm each Thursday, and the pool and gym stay open till 9pm. THE ANNUAL general meeting of Lochaber Sensory Care for Sight and Hearing Support (LSC) is being held on Saturday February 25 in Caol Community Centre.

The meeting, from 2pm till 4pm, will include a report on Sensory Care's year and the election of new board members, followed by a buffet provided by LSC. LOCHABER Environmental Group is holding a clothes swap evening at Roybridge Hall from 7.30pm on Monday March 6.

Everyone is invited to take along any unwanted items of clothing, accessories and shoes and swap them for something different. Entry is £3 which includes tea, coffee and cake.
