Dolphins hold time trials
IT WAS all about new records and personal bests at the Dolphins’ first time trials of 2017.
Held at MacPool, Lochgilphead, recently, the trials featured 40m freestyle, backcrawl, breaststroke and butterfly swims and 100m individual medley swims.
The junior group clocked up 80 per cent personal best swim times, with Cara Banaghan and Tom West achieving five personal bests each.
While the senior group finished with 50 per cent personal best swims, Abi Gregory, Ellen Moir, Hannah Young and Johnnie Neville also made five personal best times. New club records were set on the day by Ruth Neville in the 10/11 years individual medley, Ian Munro in the 14 years and above butterfly, and Megan Danson in the 14 years and above 100m individual medley record and the 40m breaststroke record that has been held since 2015.
The current fastest swimmers in the club are: Ian Munro – 29.09 seconds for butterfly; Ruby Bosomworth – 31.24 seconds for backcrawl; Megan Danson – 34.29 seconds for breaststroke and 100m individual medley; and the fastest swimmer through the water is Alfie Smith 25.12 seconds freestyle.
