Relegation battle for Oban Lorne
THE BATTLE against relegation in West Division 1 will reach a climax on Saturday at North Connel as Oban Lorne and Kilmarnock square up in a winner takes all contest.
Saturday’s victors will secure their place in the league for at least another season while a defeat will see either side’s relegation to West Division 2 next season confirmed.
The Green Machine’s preparations for the game have been thwarted by a lack of available training areas in the build up to the game with the club putting contingency plans in place by booking the old tennis courts at Atlantis Leisure. Head coach Corrie Louw should have a full strength team to choose from with no notable injury concerns in the squad and could even welcome back centre/ back Row Cammy Smith after a long lay with a knee injury.
Oban Lorne are hoping for a big crowd to cheer on the team on Saturday in what is undoubtedly the biggest game in the last couple of seasons for the team. Saturday’s match will kick- off at 3pm at North Connel.
