Fort Wil­liam 3 Lossiemouth 3 North of Scot­land Cup

Fort Wil­liam won 4-1 on penal­ties FORT Wil­liam se­cured a home vic­tory last week­end af­ter beat­ing Lossiemouth 4-1 on penal­ties in the North of Scot­land Cup.

Top goalscorer Scotty David­son put the Fort in front, net­ting in the third minute, be­fore mak­ing it a dou­ble just 15 min­utes later.

Lossiemouth pulled a goal back in the 24th minute and they quickly brought the teams level at 2-2 go­ing into the break.

Fort’s Michael Cor­bett put the home side back in front in the 73rd minute, but six min­utes later the vis­i­tors equalised from the penalty spot.

With the score tied at 3-3 af­ter 90 min­utes the teams geared up for the dreaded penalty shootout.

There was some con­fu­sion be­tween the ref­eree and mem­bers of the Fort Wil­liam club about ex­tra time rules but, af­ter con­sult­ing the North of Scot­land Cup rule book, the ref agreed with the Fort that no ex­tra time should be played, and the match went straight to penal­ties.

Af­ter Lossie missed three spot kicks the Fort held on to win 4-1.
