Call to pupils to de­sign hel­met

PRI­MARY school-aged chil­dren across Scot­land are be­ing en­cour­aged to be cre­ative and en­ter a bi­cy­cle hel­met de­sign com­pe­ti­tion.

Fuchs Silko­lene has teamed up with chil­dren’s safety char­ity Cy­cle- Smart to launch the con­test.

The win­ner will have their de­sign made into a real hel­met which they can keep.

They will also have five-times Bri­tish and Euro­pean Tri­als Cham­pion Danny But­ler’s Ex­treme Moun­tain Bike Show team visit their school or club to per­form a fan­tas­tic BMX show.

Added to this, there will be prizes for sec­ond and third place, in­clud­ing a cy­cle safety talk from Cy­cle- Smart.

Sally Travis, mar­ket­ing man­ager at Fuchs, said: ‘ For the sec­ond year run­ning we are hold­ing the Tour of the Pot­ter­ies cy­cle ride, set­ting off from the Fuchs Silko­lene head­quar­ters in Stoke- onTrent on June 25.

‘As part of this event we are proud to launch the De­sign a Cy­cling Hel­met com­pe­ti­tion in con­junc­tion with Cy­cle- Smart.

‘ Danny But­ler and his team put on a fan­tas­tic show, so that is an amaz­ing prize for the win­ner. We’ll also have good­ies for the run­ners-up.’
