Communing with Skye
A NEW book capturing the nature and topography on Skye was launched on Monday by a Scottish landscape photographer.
Allan Wright’s Skye – A
Photographic Communion was unveiled to the public at an official event at the Aros Centre, Portree, with Mr Wright on hand to give the audience a presentation about the inspiration behind the photographs.
MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber Ian Blackford also attended the launch, giving a short presentation to the audience.
Allan said: ‘I’ve always been drawn to Skye’s magical scenery and in 2014 I made the decision to invest a lot more time there. Photographing Skye was inspiring, fun and a fantastic artistic journey. I hope visitors, businesses and islanders enjoy the images captured in this book for many years to come.’ Ian Blackford said: ‘ We are so lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area, able to experience daily the sights and scenes captured by Allan. I am delighted people across the world will be able to enjoy these wonderful images and perhaps be encouraged to visit.’
