KIL­MALLIE Com­mu­nity Com­pany is ap­peal­ing for vol­un­teers to help re­pair paths and clean up lit­ter in the Pine Wood on Satur­day April 22 from 10am.

Meet­ing at Far­row Drive, the main job will be shift­ing gravel to re­pair paths. Any­one able to help is asked to take along a wheel­bar­row and shovel.

As well as the path work, there will be a lit­ter pick. Rub­bish bags and a trailer will be pro­vided but vol­un­teers are asked to take their own gloves. THE NA­TIONAL TRUST for Scot­land will open its new Steadings Gallery at Bal­macara Square, Kyle of Lochalsh, this Easter week­end.

The first ex­hi­bi­tion, by He­len L Robert­son, opens on Fri­day April 14 and runs un­til Thurs­day April 20. It will be open daily from 10am to 5pm and ad­mis­sion is free. STAFF and vol­un­teers from Lochaber Sen­sory Care (LSC) for sight and hear­ing sup­port will visit the Abbey­field Care Home in Bal­lachul­ish on Mon­day April 17.

From 10.30am till 12.30pm, the LSC rep­re­sen­ta­tives will of­fer help and ad­vice to any­one liv­ing with a hear­ing loss or sight loss, res­i­dents and mem­bers of the pub­lic. The team will sup­ply NHS hear­ing aid bat­ter­ies and re-tube and main­tain the hear­ing aids. MAIRI MACIN­TYRE’S is host­ing a bake sale to­day, Thurs­day April 13, from 11am to 3pm to help raise money for Kat Mac’s Glas­gow Chil- dren’s Hos­pi­tal Char­ity. Kat, 26, from Kin­lochleven is cel­e­brat­ing be­ing 10 years free of leukaemia later this month and has raised more than £1,000 for the hos­pi­tal so far. A SEED and plant swap will be held on Tues­day April 18 at the Lochaber Ru­ral Ed­u­ca­tion Trust with Becky Darce of Shielfoot Or­gan­ics. Take along your seeds, pack­ets, plants, cut­ting and tu­bers from 11am to 1pm. The event has been or­gan­ised as part of the sus­tain­able Spean Bridge project. HIGH­LAND Coun­cil coun­try­side rangers are hold­ing an Easter fam­ily fun day at Glen Ne­vis vis­i­tor cen­tre on Satur­day April 15 from 1pm-3pm.

There will be face paint­ing, Easter games, colour your own Easter pic­ture and an egg hunt at 2.30pm. Col­lect as many eggs as pos­si­ble and the top three will win a prize. En­try is £1 for the hunt and all chil­dren will re­ceive an Easter egg. ROLL UP at the Snow­goose restau­rant and bar at Ne­vis Range on Sun­day April 16 to col­lect your free hard boiled egg, colour it in and see how far you can roll it down the slopes of Aonach Mor.

There will also be a choco­late egg hunt, face paint­ing and badge mak­ing.
