KILMALLIE Community Company is appealing for volunteers to help repair paths and clean up litter in the Pine Wood on Saturday April 22 from 10am.
Meeting at Farrow Drive, the main job will be shifting gravel to repair paths. Anyone able to help is asked to take along a wheelbarrow and shovel.
As well as the path work, there will be a litter pick. Rubbish bags and a trailer will be provided but volunteers are asked to take their own gloves. THE NATIONAL TRUST for Scotland will open its new Steadings Gallery at Balmacara Square, Kyle of Lochalsh, this Easter weekend.
The first exhibition, by Helen L Robertson, opens on Friday April 14 and runs until Thursday April 20. It will be open daily from 10am to 5pm and admission is free. STAFF and volunteers from Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will visit the Abbeyfield Care Home in Ballachulish on Monday April 17.
From 10.30am till 12.30pm, the LSC representatives will offer help and advice to anyone living with a hearing loss or sight loss, residents and members of the public. The team will supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain the hearing aids. MAIRI MACINTYRE’S is hosting a bake sale today, Thursday April 13, from 11am to 3pm to help raise money for Kat Mac’s Glasgow Chil- dren’s Hospital Charity. Kat, 26, from Kinlochleven is celebrating being 10 years free of leukaemia later this month and has raised more than £1,000 for the hospital so far. A SEED and plant swap will be held on Tuesday April 18 at the Lochaber Rural Education Trust with Becky Darce of Shielfoot Organics. Take along your seeds, packets, plants, cutting and tubers from 11am to 1pm. The event has been organised as part of the sustainable Spean Bridge project. HIGHLAND Council countryside rangers are holding an Easter family fun day at Glen Nevis visitor centre on Saturday April 15 from 1pm-3pm.
Enjoy the Easter fun and see if you can solve the riddle hunt. Children, £3.50, and adults go free when accompanied by a child. To book call 01397 705922. THE MOORINGS Hotel is hosting an Easter Fun day on Saturday April 15 from 12pm to 3pm.
There will be face painting, Easter games, colour your own Easter picture and an egg hunt at 2.30pm. Collect as many eggs as possible and the top three will win a prize. Entry is £1 for the hunt and all children will receive an Easter egg. ROLL UP at the Snowgoose restaurant and bar at Nevis Range on Sunday April 16 to collect your free hard boiled egg, colour it in and see how far you can roll it down the slopes of Aonach Mor.
There will also be a chocolate egg hunt, face painting and badge making.
