Dead body at roadside

The Oban Times - - News -

THE body of a man was left lying on the roadside at the entrance to a busy island car park after an ambulance crew were mistakenly stood down.

Last Friday, on Mull, an elderly male visitor to the island suffered a suspected fatal heart attack and died outside shops in Tobermory.

On Tuesday, Mull Community Council heard that while a GP, on holiday on the island, worked on the man with a defibrillator, buses full of passengers slowed down with people staring at what was happening.

Mull councillor Mary-Jean Devon said the situation was distressing for everyone involved and, while no- one should be blamed, a protocol was needed for situations such as this, including having something to cover up a body if required.
