TWO HISTORY pupils from Campbeltown Grammar School took part in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to France to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of Arras.

Organised by WW100 Scotland, S3 students Abdullah Abdulkareem and Ruairidh Wallace were among 72 pupils representing each local authority in Scotland.

The Scottish pupils were joined by French and Canadian students at a memorial service at the Faubourg d’Amiens Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Arras on Sunday April 9.

They laid a wreath on behalf of the nations that fought together and placed poppy crosses on graves.
