Grant Nicholson Independent, ward five

The Oban Times - - News -

I am asking for your vote at the local council election on May 4.

I am a member of Oban Community Council and have a keen interest in local politics.

I am employed in the Whisky Shop in Oban and I previously worked for the Royal Mail for 30 years.

My deliveries were in local and rural areas, which has given me a general knowledge of the wide expanse of the Oban North and Lorn ward I am wishing to represent.

I was born and brought up in Oban and went to Rockfield School and Oban High School.

I am married and have two grown-up children and a lovely grandson.

I was a member of St Columba’s school board and secretary of its parent association.

Local government is the most important of all political structures.

By this I mean you are in direct contact with the people, and their views and opinions.

At this moment in time the people are not being listened to.

To change this, I need your vote to carry your voice forward to Kilmory.

I realise it will not be an easy job but, with your help, I will do my utmost to find a way forward.
