A FEW Lochaber Times read­ers were left un­able to cast their first votes in the Lochaber Times Bon­nie Ba­bies com­pe­ti­tion last week af­ter the sup­ple­ments with the vot­ing coupon went miss­ing from pa­pers around Fort Wil­liam. One mum con­tacted the Loch

aber Times ask­ing for copies of the pa­per af­ter she was un­able to find copies with the in­serts still in­cluded – de­spite try­ing the Coops in Caol and Cor­pach, and the BP petrol sta­tion.

She said: ‘It’s very dis­heart­en­ing. I know it’s a com­pe­ti­tion and every­body wants their baby to win, but it’s nice to be fair.’

Lyn­say Rowsell, Caol Co-op team leader, said: ‘Our man­ager caught a cus­tomer with six or seven sup­ple­ments and told them they couldn’t have them with­out buy­ing the pa­per so those were put back in.

‘How­ever, a few days later, when we counted the pa­pers, we found be­tween 25 and 30 had no sup­ple­ments.’
