SAVE FORT WILLIAM FOOTBALL CLUB

Due to the possible imminent retiral of some of the board/committee, FWFC urgently requires volunteers to assist in the running of the club

-

Without such assistance the future of the club and particularly its participation in the Highland League will almost certainly be in jeopardy. Financial support it also required.

Please come along to a public meeting at The Social Club, Claggan Park on Monday April 24, at 7pm.

One director from Fort William Football Club, Ronnie Maclean, said: ‘ As we approach the end of another football season it is very clear that we urgently need people to come forward to assist with the numerous tasks that are necessary to run a Highland League football Club.

‘Young or old, male or female, there are jobs for everyone and all will be made very welcome.

‘We are also losing our manager and assistant, so now is perhaps the opportunity for a local group to come forward as our new coaching team. Again, this is really urgent to ensure club licensing for the next season.

‘We are the only Highland League team in the west of Scotland and that is something we should all be proud of.

‘I cannot over emphasise the implications at all levels of FWFC not being in the Highland League – our youth teams would not be able to compete in North of Scotland games if they are not affiliated to a registered club.

‘Please make the effort to come to the meeting on Monday to hear first hand what is needed to keep FWFC going.

‘If you cannot make the meeting but would like to help, please contact our club secretary Marie on 07803 049571 or any committee member before the meeting.’
