A group of vol­un­teers will be meet­ing for a ‘spring clean’ on Sun­day May 7, from 2- 4pm at the new Town Team Hub, on the Pa­rade.

All ages are wel­come and jobs will be of­fered to suit. If you have prob­lems trav­el­ling into town, Town Team can pro­vide a pick-up ser­vice. Cups of tea/ cof­fee and home­bak­ing will be pro­vided, at the new HQ, af­ter the fin­ish.

A free writ­ing work­shop will take place at Fort Wil­liam Li­brary on Tues­day, May 9 from 2-3.30pm. The event is part of Nour­ish which is a public par­tic­i­pa­tion writ­ing cam­paign or­gan­ised by the Scottish Book Trust.

The trust is invit­ing en­tries in English, Scots and Gaelic and the favourites will be pub­lished in an e-book for Book Week Scot­land. For more in­for­ma­tion visit scot­tish­book­trust.com/ nour­ish.

Staff and vol­un­teers from Lochaber sen­sory care (LSC) for sight and hear­ing sup­port are vis­it­ing Ard­na­mur­chan on Mon­day May 8.

The LSC rep­re­sen­ta­tives will be based at Acharachle Med­i­cal Prac­tice be­tween 10.30am and 11.30am and at Dailmhor Care Home in Stron­tian from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

At each venue they will of­fer sup­port and ad­vice to those with a hear­ing loss or sight loss. The team mem­bers will also re-tube and main­tain NHS hear­ing aids, and sup­ply NHS bat­ter­ies for these. No ap­point­ment nec­es­sary.

Push the Boat Out will take place at the Glen­coe Boat Club on May 14 from 10am to 4pm.

Vis­i­tors will be able to ex­pe­ri­ence yacht-keel­boat- dinghy sail­ing, power­boat rides- demos, kayak­ing, archery. There will also be a bar­be­cue, bouncy cas­tle and stalls.

Ro­tary Club of Lochaber is hold­ing a soup and sand­wich lunch to raise funds for the End Po­lio Now pro­gramme.

The event will take place at Dun­cans­burgh Church Hall on Satur­day May 13 from noon to 3pm.
