EU is unfair to non-Europeans

-

Sir, I refer to the article about a Canadian couple who set up a business at Laggan and are soon to be deported ( The Oban

Times, April 20). Sadly, this is typical of the racial discrimination we have had to endure since we joined the European Union.

We have two elections coming up, so we have the opportunity to vote against candidates who are members of parties that support the EU, including members of SNP, Greens, Lib-Dems, and the Blairite wing of Labour, all of whom support the EU’s racist immigration laws.

I voted leave because I am opposed to racial discrimination, for the same reason I think we should refuse to negotiate any trade deal with EU and should insist on a hard Brexit. Once we have left EU, we should refuse to trade with EU members and should impose a total ban on all imports from EU countries.

This is our moral duty in order to protest against EU immigration laws that discriminate against non-Europeans. At present we have to discriminate against Canadians because they are not Europeans. David Gallant, Oban.
