Strathal­lan School head teacher to take up role in Septem­ber

FOL­LOW­ING the an­nounce­ment of a new head­mas­ter for Strathal­lan School, the chair­man of gov­er­nors, Richard Lin­ton, is de­lighted to an­nounce that Mark Lauder will take up his role at the start of the new aca­demic year in Septem­ber.

Mr Lauder has en­joyed no­table suc­cesses in his past seven years at Ashville where he has over­seen a rise in pub­lic exam re­sults at A Level and GCSE to achieve record highs and a sig­nif­i­cant in­crease in pupil num­bers.

He will take over from Bruce Thomp­son, who has led Strathal­lan for the past 17 years.

Un­der Mr Thomp­son’s guid­ance Strathal­lan has en­joyed sig­nif­i­cant aca­demic, sport­ing and cre­ative achieve­ments.

High­lights in­clude an £18 mil­lion in­vest­ment pro­gramme which has re­sulted in ex­ten­sive new fa­cil­i­ties, in­clud­ing a new girls’ board­ing house, dance and drama studio, in­door ten­nis fa­cil­i­ties and a strength and con­di­tion­ing suite, as well as class­room and ac­com­mo­da­tion re­fur­bish­ment.
