Scot­land’s big­gest ever Fes­ti­val of Mu­se­ums

This week­end (May 19 to 21) will mark the largest ever Fes­ti­val of Mu­se­ums in a cel­e­bra­tion of Scot­land’s cul­ture and his­tory with more than 140 events tak­ing place across three days.

Venues in the High­lands and Is­lands will wel­come vis­i­tors with cre­ative and hands- on ac­tiv­i­ties, while spot- light­ing the wealth of cul­ture show­cased by Scot­land’s best-loved at­trac­tions.

Joanne Orr, chief ex­ec­u­tive of Mu­se­ums Gal­leries Scot­land, said: ‘Mu­se­ums across Scot­land will open their doors next week­end to host the big­gest and most ex­cit­ing Fes­ti­val of Mu­se­ums ever.

‘We have a bumper pro­gramme packed with events cel­e­brat­ing Scot­land’s rich cul­ture and in­cred­i­ble his­tory – from the Picts and Bor­der clans­men to Vik­ings and even pi­rates. Don’t miss out on the fun – make sure you check out what’s hap­pen­ing near you.’
