Defibrillator to be installed in phone box
NETHER Lochaber Community Council has secured funds for a community defibrillator.
Following donations from businesses and support from the Clachaig Inn, which raised £2,010.60 for South Lochaber defibrillator projects through its FebruaryFest raffle, the equipment has been ordered.
The Onich defibrillator will be fitted into a refurbished antique phone box.
In Glencoe, a defibrillator has been fitted outside the ambulance station and in Ballachulish one has been installed at the medical centre.
A community council spokesman said: ‘We are delighted our plan to raise funds to site a defibrillator in Nether Lochaber has been successful. Thanks to incredible generosity, we have exceeded our target meaning we have maintenance money available.
‘Courses on how to use the defibrillators will be held soon. Keep watching for posters and Facebook posts.’
