Suc­ces­ful SWI group rally in Con­nel

THE SCOT­TISH Women’s In­sti­tute Lorn Group rally held in Con­nel Hall was the most suc­cess­ful in re­cent years.

There were a to­tal of 453 en­tries rang­ing from bak­ing, crafts, photography, art and flo­ral art.

The at­mos­phere was ex­cel­lent with mem­bers ex­chang­ing hints and tips. The area with the high­est points was Oban and the area with the high­est points per mem­ber was Kil­more. The best ex­hibit in the craft sec­tion was a neck­lace made by Alice Camp­bell of Taynuilt. The best ex­hibit in the bak­ing sec­tion was dec­o­rated sponge by Fiona Coutts of Kil­bran­don and Taynuilt won the com­mu­nity tray sec­tion.
