Con­sul­ta­tion today on Dun­beg’s pro­posed master­plan

DUN­BEG res­i­dents are re­minded that a drop-in in­for­ma­tion event will take place today, Thurs­day June 1, on coun­cil plans to up­grade the vil­lage’s Kirk Road.

Pro­pos­als are in place to im­prove the road, with work an­tic­i­pated to start later this year, sub­ject to a suc­cess­ful ap­pli­ca­tion for Scot­tish Govern­ment hous­ing in­fra­struc­ture fund­ing.

It is part of the Dun­beg Cor­ri­dor Strate­gic Master­plan, which sets out plans for sites be­tween Dun­beg and Gana­van. As well as the road im­prove­ments, the master­plan in­cludes 600 new homes, re­tail and com­mer­cial de­vel­op­ment, green spa­ces, play parks and land­scap­ing.

The in­for­ma­tion even­ing will take place in Dun­beg Pri­mary School from 4pm to 7pm.

Lo­cal res­i­dents are in­vited to call in at any time dur­ing that time to find out more about what is planned for Kirk Road from the coun­cil plan­ning team be­hind the project.

The in­for­ma­tion drop-in event is tak­ing place across three hours to give as many peo­ple as pos­si­ble the chance to at­tend.

The master­plan com­plies with the coun­cil’s lo­cal de­vel­op­ment plan, which out­lines ma­jor de­vel­op­ment pro­pos­als for the next five years.

It will pro­vide a frame­work for de­vel­op­ment in Dun­beg and the sub­se­quent plan­ning ap­pli­ca­tions for the sites, which in­cludes 300 homes in the first phase.
