Charged over library incident
A 26-YEAR- OLD man has been charged in connection with an incident last Thursday which saw Fort William library cordoned off after reports of a gunman.
Police officers and ambulances were dispatched to the High Street just after 10am and the library was evacuated.
A plastic BB gun was recovered from the scene.
Michael Kucera, of no fixed address, appeared in private on petition in Fort William Sheriff Court on Friday May 26 charged with theft by shipbreaking and opening a lockfast place, and two counts of breach of the peace. Kucera entered no plea and was committed for further examination. He was remanded in custody.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Police Scotland can confirm that a 26-year old-man has now been arrested and charged in relation to an incident at the library in Fort William on Thursday May 25.’
