A poor choice of election candidates

The Oban Times - - Letters -

Sir, Well done Ann Horn in highlighting the greed of Alan Reid. Rejected by the electorate as an MP, rejected as an MSP he is now elected as a councillor.

Still not good enough, he has now put himself forward for the coming general election as a MP. What hypocrisy.

On top of this we now have Jamie McGrigor appearing from the wilderness.

And Brendan O’Hara, a novice MP but adept at claiming expenses. Not content with a salary of £74,000, first class travel and subsidised meals, his first year’s expenses put him in the top 10 claimants in Scotland.

If these three are the best our county can muster, don’t expect Argyll and the Isles to prosper in the near future. D Johnson, Tarbert.
