Meet the can­di­dates vote in this month’s

ELEC­TION day next Thurs­day, June 8, will see elec­tors re­turn to the bal­lot boxes only two years af­ter the pre­vi­ous poll.

It is fac­tual to say that the SNP were the win­ners in Scot­land at that time with all seats bar three be­ing taken by the party led by First Min­is­ter Ni­cola Stur­geon.

Pun­dits and poll­sters think that this time things might change, and that 14 seats may re­vert to ei­ther Labour or Con­ser­va­tive.

While many peo­ple in the High­lands and Is­lands may have al­ready cast their cross in the box by postal vote there is no doubt that many peo­ple feel ap­a­thetic about get­ting out and vot­ing.

Young peo­ple are the par­ticu- lar tar­get of po­lit­i­cal par­ties to en­sure they are both reg­is­tered to vote and are en­cour­aged to get out on the day to the polling sta­tions.
