Scot­land call-up for Brad­bury broth­ers

FER­GUS Brad­bury (20) has been called up to the Scot­land U20 Squad for the Ju­nior World Cup in Ge­or­gia which started on Wed­nes­day.

Scot­land will play their pool matches in this pres­ti­gious com­pe­ti­tion in Ku­taisi. They are placed in Pool B along­side Ire­land, New Zealand and Italy. If they progress through the pool stages, fur­ther matches are to be played in Tb­lisi.

Fer­gus, a prop who can play at ei­ther loose or tight head, is cur­rently study­ing Ma­rine Bi­ol­ogy at Stir­ling Univer­sity and is a BT Academy player, play­ing in the Premier League with Stir­ling County RFC.

His brother Magnus (21) has been re­called into the full na­tional squad for Scot­land tour in June. They will play Italy in Singapore, Aus­tralia in Syd­ney and then Fiji in Suva. The back row player earned his first full in­ter­na­tional cap against Ar­gentina last au­tumn and has fully re­cov­ered from a knee in­jury. Magnus has re­cently com­mit­ted to a fur­ther three­year con­tract with Ed­in­burgh Rugby.

At the end of sea­son with Ed­in­burgh Rugby, Magnus was hon­oured with two awards from the club, namely best young player and most im­proved player.

Both started their rugby with Oban Lorne RFC and Oban High School, be­fore mov­ing to Mer­chis­ton Cas­tle School in Ed­in­burgh.
